A.S. DEGREE IN EMS
EMS Associates Degree – Orlando
Orlando Medical Institute’s Associates Program is designed for the working professional (must have a Florida State Paramedics license). All general education courses required to attain this degree are available Online through our state of the art Online learning Management System platform. This is only for student who have acquired their paramedic state licensure and are seeking their next level of education with an Associate Degree in EMS.
The following General Education Courses are required for your degree in Emergency Medical Services:
English Composition I | English Composition II | College Algebra | Introduction to Psychology | Public Speaking
After Successfully Completing these Online courses students will be granted an Associate’s Degree of Science in EMS from Orlando Medical Institute.
EMS A.S. Degree Course Outline
Students in this course will review and study grammatical context, sentence structure, write term papers and reports and general rules of business correspondence.
Students in this course will continue to review and study grammatical context, sentence structure, write term papers and reports and general rules of business correspondence. In this section students will study contemporary writings and demonstrate reading comprehension and critical thinking on subject matter.
Students in this course will be able to demonstrate knowledge of public speaking, speech delivery concepts and analyze the delivery of other students’ speeches. Students will perform audience analysis tasks and prepare speech topics and outlines. Learners will use supporting materials and presentation aids in speech preparation to prepare each of the components of a speech.
Upon completion of this course students will have developed a basic understanding of psychology, its origins and its practical applications in the professional world. Students will gain skills and knowledge enhancing their ability to effectively communicate ideas and identify behaviors and information effectively.
Students in this course will explore exponential mathematics, and college algebra through the examination of practical applications. Students will calculate algebraic problems with linear equations, exponents, polynomials, factors, and rational expressions. Student will solve problems using graphs, slopes, inequalities, linear equations, roots, radicals and quadratic equations.

Registration
Registration fee will be due upon application completion. This fee is $150.00, which will secure your seat in the class.
OMI will ensure that the program and the staff are providing the most current instructional theory and practices to our students and meet or exceed the state of Florida and/or National Registry Paramedic certificate requirements.
Registration Deadline
The deadline to register for the EMS Associates Degree program will be two weeks from the start date of the semester.
